Hilton Head High 34, Stall 6
Hilton Head High quarterback Jeff Homad threw touchdowns on his first two pass attempts, setting the tone for the Seahawks in an easy win over Region 8-AAA rival Stall.
Homad's first pass was a 35-yard TD strike to Victor Frazier. The second was a 29-yard TD pass to Jaquan Cohen.
Homad finished with three touchdown passes and 181 yards on 11-of-19 passing with no interceptions.
Frazier finished with two TDs and 117 yards on six catches. Lawrence Jenkins rushed for 116 yards on 22 carries.
On defense, Jack Duane had 11 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
Hilton Head High (4-4 overall, 2-1 region) will travel to Battery Creek next Friday.
Ridgeland 36, Wade Hampton 20
Quarterback Jerry Scott had a 35-yard touchdown run and running back Brent Walker had a 31-yarder, leading Ridgeland to a win over Region 5-AA rival Wade Hampton.
Tyboshie Mikell also had a 4-yard TD run and Ridgeland's defense fell on a blocked Wade Hampton punt in the endzone for another score.
Ridgeland led 24-6 at halftime.
The Jaguars (5-3 overall, 2-1 in Region 5-AA) will host Barnwell on Friday.
Hardeeville 16, Baptist Hill 14, OT
Hardeeville pulled off an upset in Region 6-A play, knocking off league front runner Baptist Hill on the road in overtime.
Jarrell Knighton scored a 13-yard touchdown in regulation and then ran in the 2-point conversion in regulation.
In overtime, Donald Scott caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Phillip Harris, then Knighton ran in the 2-point conversion.
Hardeeville (4-5 overall, 2-3 Region 6-A) will travel to Allendale-Fairfax on Friday.
HHCA 61, Cathedral Academy 7
Luke Sirgo tossed five first-half touchdowns and Shea Watkins did a bit of everything to help Hilton Head Christian Academy roll to victory in a non-region contest.
Sirgo was 8-for-11 passing for 254 yards with the five touchdowns -- four in the first quarter. Alex Martin had two of those scoring catches and finished with 99 receiving yards.
Watkins had a 34-yard touchdown run, kicked seven extra points and led the Eagles (7-1) on defense with seven tackles and an interception.
Zac Lenns had a touchdown catch and a touchdown run, Ethan Gort had a 55-yard touchdown reception, Ryan Cash ran for a score and Kyle Weaver had a 43-yard touchdown run. JaBrook Tucker had 39 receiving yards with a touchdown to go along with 55 rushing yards.
Devan Fitzhugh had an interception and Alec Westmark had four tackles for Hilton Head Christian, which hosts Colleton Prep at 7 p.m. Friday.
Cathedral Academy (1-7) scored on a 9-yard pass from Jordan Marsh to Michael Spellman in the first quarter.
Jefferson Davis 56, Beaufort Academy 0
Jefferson Davis flexed its muscle on Beaufort Academy, handing the Eagles their sixth consecutive loss in SCISAA 8-man independent football.
Beaufort Academy was missing two players due to illness but head coach Wheatley Alford didn't use that as an excuse.
"We had two weeks of rust to shake off and we just didn't meet the challenge tonight," Alford said. "They have a quality team. I was really impressed with their overall team speed. ... It was an eye-opening experience for my team."
Beaufort Academy (1-6) will host Trinity Collegiate on Friday.
Abundant Life 22, Appling Christian 0
Abundant Life won a battle of undefeated teams. Angel Anguiano caught a 9-yard touchdown pass and Logan Cunningham hauled in a 25-yarder from quarterback Jarrett Owens. Running back Jon-Jon Herrington also scored a 1-yard touchdown set up by a 57-yard run by Markus Caldwell.
Abundant Life (8-0) plays Fountain Inn on Friday.
