Bluffton and Hilton Head High golf teams will travel to Camden County Club on Tuesday for the Class 3-A Lower State qualifier. The Bobcats have won the Lower State tournament each of the past two years and are seeking to make it three in a row.

PREP NOTEBOOK
FRIENDLY FIRE
In each of Beaufort High's last four volleyball matches, senior Mindy Morris has stared back at a number of familiar faces across the net, with several of her Beaufort Volleyball Club teammates populating local squads.
The reunion tour began at Saturday's Lowcountry Volleyball Classic, where Morris claimed MVP honors for the champion Eagles as they faced crosstown foes Battery Creek, Bluffton, Hilton Head High and Hilton Head Prep. There, Morris went head-to-head with past and present club teammates Angie Whalen of Battery Creek, Lisa Glover and Kellie Cooper of Bluffton and Morgan Simmons of Prep.
If that wasn't enough, Morris renewed these friendly rivalries during a Monday match against Bluffton and a Tuesday tri-match with Battery Creek and Hilton Head Prep. After falling to the Bobcats, the Eagles swept their senior night tri-match, ending what proved to be a successful week amongst friends for Morris.
"It's really competitive for us because we all want to prove that we can bring it against one another and we don't want to play scared," Morris said. "I'm my toughest critic, so it feels good to have won MVP of the tournament and, more importantly, that we won."
ZIEGLER TRADES RACKET FOR CLUBS
Although she has spent most of her fall playing for Hilton Head Christian Academy's tennis team, Lauren Ziegler will represent the Eagles in the SCISAA girls golf state tournament Monday at Hidden Valley Golf Club in Gaston.
Athletics director Tommy Lewis said the Eagles tried to pull together a full girls golf team for the first time this fall, but the fact those plans didn't pan out didn't keep Ziegler from competing as an individual in the state meet.
Ziegler hopes to follow in the steps of former Eagles player Jenny Payne -- who now is a freshman on the USC Beaufort women's golf team -- by making the all-state team. Payne finished second at the state meet last year.
SENIOR NIGHT FOR BOBCATS
Tonight's football game will be senior night for the football players and all other fall sports teams. Senior athletes for all fall sports teams, as well as their parents or escorts, should meet at the scoreboard entrance to the football field at 7:10 p.m. and walk out onto the field five minutes later.
The Bobcats football team will host Battery Creek tonight at 7:30.
MOZZO WINS ANOTHER AWARD
For the second time this season, former Beaufort High soccer player Erik Mozzo has been named the Sunshine State Conference's Defensive Player of the Week. The current St. Leo goalie recorded nine saves and allowed just one goal in leading the Lions to victories against Thomas University and nationally ranked Lynn University.
After earning the starting nod in just his first year at the Division II school, Mozzo has helped lead the Lions to a 6-6 record, including a 2-3 mark in the SSC.
BEAUFORT HIGH TO HOLD SOFTBALL MEETING
New Beaufort High softball coach Jay Gratton will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on October 27 in the school's media center. Anyone interested in playing softball for the Eagles during the upcoming season is asked to attend this meeting. Parents are encouraged to attend as well.
