Each of us there represented at least 10 to 20 other Americans who are concerned about the future of our country. Both parties of Congress are responsible for the financial crisis we are facing. Our message to Congress includes: Follow the Constitution, no more bailouts, stop spending, down-size government, limit terms of office, pass the "Fair Tax," no amnesty or health care for illegal immigrants and no government health care. During the march to the Capitol, you could hear us sing "God Bless America," as well as shouts of "USA" and "Can you hear us now?" We have had enough.
The news coverage of this large rally of Americans was minimal or ignored, erroneous and slanted in an effort to minimize our movement. Remember the May 5 marches around the country of illegal immigrants demanding amnesty? The coverage was massive by the media.
We started on April 15 as small groups. By Sept. 12, I believe, this gathering was in the millions. This is not the end. The "Silent Majority" will continue to grow, and in 2010 if they don't hear us now, they will hear us in the November elections.
