Local cross country teams run in Coaches Classic

SCTCCCA Coaches Classic: The Hilton Head High girls cross country team took third place out of 19 teams in the international division of the SCTCCCA Coaches Classic on Saturday at Sandhills Research Park in Columbia.

Sara Manesiotis covered the 5K course in a time of 6:11 to finish third in a field of 128 runners. Mauldin's Alexa Neiling won the race in a time of 18:59. The boys race was won by For Mill's Mark Blackmon in a time of 16:00.

Hilton Head High's Jack Manesiotis finished fourth in a time of 16:19. Other local schools at the race were Beaufort High in the international division, then Bluffton and Battery Creek in the slower championship division.
