Authorities are looking for a 21-year-old Estill man who escaped after a sheriff's deputy tried to pull him over early Monday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report released Wednesday.

The deputy saw Dominique Anderson driving an Acura on U.S. 278 near Buckwalter Parkway, Cpl. Robin McIntosh of the Sheriff's Office said.

The deputy, who knew from a prior incident that Anderson had a suspended driver's license and two outstanding warrants, tried to pull him over, McIntosh said.

The man sped toward S.C. 170. He eventually abandoned the Acura -- his girlfriend's car -- near his mother's mobile home and ran into the woods, McIntosh said.

Authorities tried to find him using its dog units, but were unsuccessful, she said.
