Kelsey Tyler Capell, a 17-year-old Bluffton High student, was arrested at school Tuesday afternoon on charges of assault and battery with intent to kill, assault with intent to kill, possession of a firearm in commission of a violent crime and driving under suspension, according to McAllister and a Bluffton Police Department news release.
She was taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center, where she remained Wednesday on $76,275 bond, according to the detention center log.
The two other suspects in Capell's car -- brothers Oseas Ivan Munoz, 17, and Sergio Alexander Munoz, 18 -- were arrested Wednesday, McAllister said. Both are Bluffton residents.
No one was seriously injured in the shooting, though one victim was taken to Coastal Carolina Hospital. Capell, who was driving a 1998 Toyota Corolla with the two other suspects near the Buckwalter Place Publix, allegedly used a .38 caliber revolver to fire six rounds at the driver of another carbecause of a fight over $350, McAllister said. The incident happened just before 10 p.m. Aug. 13.
The younger Munozwas arrested several hours before his brother turned himself in at the Bluffton Police Department, McAllister said.
They each face charges of assault and battery with intent to kill -- a charge based on one victim's injury -- and assault with intent to kill, McAllister said.
The Munoz brothers, who are not Bluffton High students, were taken to the detention center. They had not been booked late Wednesday.
McAllister said detectives used inconsistencies in stories and a description of the Corolla Capell had been driving, to track down the suspects. They found the Corolla in the Bluffton High parking lot, he said.
