A white 2008 Ford F-250 and a boat trailer sustained $60,000 in damage Monday afternoon after sliding into the Broad River at the Grays Hill Landing, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

The report said the truck's 42-year-old owner and his wife were launching their boat at the landing at about noon.

After putting the boat in the water, the man said he gave his wife the keys to the truck and asked her to go park the car. The truck then slid backward into the water with the trailer still attached and sunk.

No injuries were reported, and a tow truck was called to the landing to pull the truck from the water.
