July 27, 2009

Jennifer Morillo, the S.C. Association of School Administrators' reigning Assistant Principal of the Year, was selected to be the next principal of Beaufort Elementary during an executive session Monday of the Beaufort County Board of Education.

Morillo has been with the Beaufort County School District since 2001, serving as a mathematics teacher at H. E. McCracken Middle School from 2001-2004 and, most recently, as assistant principal at Lady's Island Middle School.

She began her teaching career in 1997 as a South Carolina history teacher and reading teacher at Alston Middle School in Summerville.

Morillo completed her undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina and earned a master's degree in education from Charleston Southern University.
