Former Olympic swimmer Carlton Bruner will speak at the Kiwanis Club of Beaufort's meeting Thursday.

A four-time all-America swimmer at the University of Florida and a four-time national champion in the 1,500 meter freestyle, Bruner won gold in the 1,500 freestyle at the 1995 Pan-American Games and placed 12th in the same event in the 1996 Olympic Games.

Bruner is a native of Atlanta, but he has lived in Beaufort since 2006.

The meeting begins at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at the Golden Corral in Beaufort.
