Law enforcement officers from the S.C. Department of Natural Resources will be at four Beaufort County boat landings this holiday weekend to conduct courtesy boat inspections.

Today, officers will be stationed at the Pinckney Island boat landing on Hilton Head Island and at the Lemon Island Boat Landing from 9 a.m. to noon. On Sunday, they will be at the Battery Creek Boat Landing and The Sands in Port Royal during the same hours.

Officers will be checking to make sure boaters have all necessary safety equipment and documentation before launching, according to DNR.
