USC Beaufort golfers George Thacker, a rising junior, and Reed Howard, a rising senior, have been named to the Ping NAIA All-Region team for the South region, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced this week. A total of 60 players were named to the four all-region teams, including 15 in the South region.
Thacker and Howard were instrumental in helping the Sand Sharks qualify for the NAIA National Championships in only the program's second season, and their solid play at nationals helped USCB to a seventh-place finish. Thacker tied for 21st at nationals, while Howard tied for 48th.
