Beaufort Police say a 22-year-old Grays Hill man employed at the Walmart on Robert Smalls Parkway in Beaufort helped his 19-year-old brother rob the store early Thursday at gunpoint.

Employees told officers that at about 12:30 a.m. a masked man armed with a handgun approached the store's customer service area and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed sum of money, the man ran out of the store. No one in the store was injured.

Police set a perimeter and the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office dispatched its K-9 unit to help track the suspect, according to a release from the Beaufort Police Department.

Some time later, a deputy located Roshaun Cannady, who was arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery. Investigators learned later that Roshaun's brother, Roman Cannady, was an on-duty employee of Walmart and was involved in the crime, according to police. He also was charged with armed robbery.

Both men were being held Thursday at the Beaufort County Detention Center on $35,000 bail.
