A fire that destroyed most of the playground equipment at Michael C. Riley Elementary School in Bluffton on April 10 will cost the Beaufort County School District about $125,000, according to a report presented at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting.
The price includes removing old equipment, refurbishing any equipment that can be salvaged and new equipment. Installation of new equipment will begin this week and take between three and four weeks, according to the report.
Two juveniles were charged with malicious injury to personal property after accidentally setting the fire.
