BJWSA warns residents of scam

People who claim to be working for a companythat sells water filtration systems are asking to enter homes in northern Beaufort County to take water samples, the Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority warned Tuesday.

Authority officials said their employees don't ask to enter homes unless the homeowner has been notified beforehand. Authority employees also have official trucks, uniforms and photo identification.

The authority advised residents not to allow anyone into a home who lacks proper identification.
