That's right, in spite of former President George W. Bush's failure, the real causes of this economic crisis were Democrats, such as Sen. Chris Dodd, Rep. Barney Frank and then Sen. Obama, who forced banks into making insanely risky loans in the name of "community redevelopment." This, combined with the "greed is good" Wall Streeters and the mortgage industry's quick killers, all of whom were supposed to be overseen by former Securities and Exchange Commission chairman Christopher "I screwed up" Cox, is why we are in trouble.
And the Republicans, who now are calling for fiscal responsibility but showed none when they were completely in charge from 2001 to 2006, are almost as guilty. Sure, some of them were warning about these loans four or five years ago, but their warnings were so low no one heard them.
So now we're being asked to give this "new" government a chance. What's new? Obama, Dodd, Frank, Pelosi, Reid? Please. Republicans are begging for us to give them another chance, but since we have no choice, let's all give Obama his chance. If twoyears from now things are much improved, I'll write again and apologize for being skeptical. But if, as I truly believe, things will be worse, I'll give my suggestions at that time.
