A 30-year-old Hilton Head Island man was punched in the face after he refused to go on a beer run, aBeaufort County sheriff's report released Monday said.

The man told deputies he and two friends had been drinking beer when they ran out and wanted more. When the man told his friends he had no money and couldn't buy more beer, he was punched in the face and threatened with a screwdriver, the report said.

The man called police about the attack but was unable to press charges because he was intoxicated, the report said.

He was treated for a swollen eye by paramedics at the scene, the report said.
