Santa makes his debut on Hilton Head Island

Snow on the Harbour, sponsored by the Town of Hilton Head Island and the Island Recreation Association, made dreams of Christmas come true for the young and old on the waterfront at Shelter Cove Harbour.

The event, which was free and open to the public, featured live entertainment, special giveaways, concessions, festive Christmas decorations and more.

Shortly before dusk, Santa arrived led by a parade of area school children and took a seat at the Santa Station to have his picture taken with children.

At dusk, Hilton Head Island Mayor Tom Peeples and his wife Mary Ann flipped the switch on the town’s 35-foot Christmas tree, lighting some 3,000 lights .
