Grab your skates for roller derby boot camp

SAVANNAH -- If you're a fierce female interested in getting a taste of one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States, join the Savannah Derby Devils for "Roller Girl Boot Camp" on Sunday through Aug. 16 at the Garden City Recreation Center/Gym, 160 Wheathill Road, behind Groves High School on U.S. 21.

No skates or rink skills are necessary to attend.

Only women ages 18 and older are eligible to register for the weeklong boot camp, which begins at 6 p.m. Sunday with a meet-and-greet and derby demonstration.

Bring a legal photo ID and insurance card if available. Registration is $25.
