Sea Pines bike accident requires airlift to hospital for girl

A 15-year-old tourist was flown to a Savannah hospital Sunday morning after she fell head-first from a bike in Sea Pines, according to the Town of Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue Division.

Medics responded to Snowy Egret Road at about 10:30 a.m. to treat the girl, battalion chief Mick Mayers said. She was taken by helicopter to Memorial Health University Medical Center.

There was no word on her condition late Sunday.
