Motorcyclist killed Thursday in Beaufort crash

A 42-year-old Beaufort motorcyclist was killed Thursday when he attempted to turn onto Bay Pines Road and was ejected from the bike, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Bob Beres.

Jeffrey Hraban was riding a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle south on Shanklin Road about 10:30 a.m. when he attempted to the turn onto Bay Pines Road, according the Beaufort County coroner's office. The motorcycle's foot peg hit the roadway, ejecting Hraban, the coroner's office said.

He was not wearing a helmet, Beres said.

Hraban was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the coroner's office.
