The Bluffton High School boys basketball team came into this week thinking it needed to win its final three regular-season games to clinch the Region 7-AAA championship. They found out Wednesday that wasn't the case.
All the Bobcats needed to clinch the region's top seed for the playoffs was a win Wednesday night in a non-region game against Hilton Head Prep, and they went out and did just that, rolling past the Dolphins, 85-42.
The victory gives Bluffton a better non-region record than challenger Lake Marion, so regardless of what happens Friday, the Bobcats have locked up the league's No. 1 postseason berth by virtue of that tiebreaker.
